Family Update
December 26, 2002
Friends & Family,
We'll just update you briefly on our lives. Bethany is 18 months old, doing well, and growing up at record speed. Shes running around, talking up a storm (mostly in Martian, which she speaks fluently, but partly English), and overall giving us the times of our lives. Brad is working very hard, but still enjoys his job. Suzy's been working too hard at a clinic thats been undergoing a lot of changes, and she's trying to stick it out. We went to Montana this year for Christmas to be with Suzy's folks and grandparents, but plan to get back to Milwaukee in a few weeks. We're also hoping to make some other trips this next year as well -- Chicago, New York, maybe California .
Happy holidays to all -- belated Happy Channukah, belated Merry Christmas and Happy 2003!!!
Bethany's Travelog - Bethany has been keeping a diary of all of our recent travels - we thought we'd share it with everyone...
Dec 11: Mama and Dada woke me up at 4am today not sure what they were thinking cause they oughta know that I need my beauty rest. At about 5am they decided to take me for a ride in the car but insisted on bringing enough stuff for over a week with them. After a short drive, I guess they thought I needed to go for a walk cause we ended up at this big place with security and LOTS of people. I think they lost their bags tho cause we came into this place with about 4 bags on now we have only 1. After about an hour or so of walking around they decided to take me for another ride this time we went in a flying car - I am not kidding! - the car really flew! The ride was great cept for the part where I threw-up on Mama and all over myself, after that it got kinda long. We finally got off that horrible flying car thing, rushed around for a little while, then got on another one - I think Mama and Dada may have lost their minds. As expected, I got sick on flying car ride #2 - maybe that'll teach them.
Dec 12-15: I guess all that throwing up and rushing around was worth it cause now I am at some gugundous place that looks like it belongs in a Disney movie -- there are castles and pyramids and fish and turtles and everywhere. I could stay here forever. Mama and Dada seem to be having fun too although Mama seems to disappear every morning after breakfast till about lunchtime. That's okay tho cause I think I have Dada broken-in now.
Dec 16: Not sure why, but Mama and Dada decided that we should leave this oasis. I could stay forever but they mentioned something about not being able to afford $50 meals 3x per day for the rest of our lives, not sure what they are talking about tho cause my crackers and french fries only cost like $10. (Mama and Dada took me on another one of those flying car things on our way home and this time I didn't get sick at all. Maybe Mama and Dada know what they are doing after all.)
Dec 17: It's nice to be home with all my furry friends and stuff but I miss all the fishes and turtles and castles and sand and water and stuff. Maybe I can convince Mama and Dada to go back there.
Dec 21: I was just about to settle in for a long nights sleep when Mama and Dada got me all dressed and whooshed me off to the place with airplanes and stuff again. We took a ride to someplace called Montana. After we arrived Mama and Dada kept pointing stuff out to me but all I could see was fog and clouds from my car seat - they kept saying stuff like "see the Mountains" and "give Great Grandma a hug" but I'm not really sure what those things are. All I know is that there was this really nice old lady who kept smiling at me and this really tall man with white hair, and there were these really big hills will snow on top. Maybe Mama and Dada will explain that stuff me when I get older.
Dec 25: I got a bunch of presents last night (including my own Elmo!), and I think that's why we came, cause then we left today. We are home again now and although I had lots of fun the last couple of weeks I am glad to be home now and I hope we get to stay here a while.
